Australia 2012
Day 1: Sydney
Valerie and Martha joined Leilah in Sydney on the last day of her conference there. After a short nap, V & M wandered down George Street, stopping first for coffee, of course. On the clock, it was some two days since our departure, after all. We goggled at the palm trees in winter (it was about 60 degrees), took photos of V at her namesake street and restaurant in Chinatown, and then rendezvoused with L. We had a terrific Japanese meal (one of the more affordable of our trip, too), and set off for Sydney Tower to get the lay of the land. En route, we walked through the Queen Victoria Building, one of several multilevel, skylit, ornate shopping arcades that have been restored in recent years.
